Pedestrian critically injured in Palm Springs

Police said a pedestrian was critically injured along North Palm Canyon Drive between Tamarisk and El Alameda Sunday evening.

The man was struck by a vehicle about 7:20 p.m. along the 900 block of North Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs police Sgt. K. Lu said.

No vehicle information was available.

North Palm Canyon Drive was shut down between Tamarisk Road and El
Alameda for the on-scene police investigation until 1:30 a.m., he said.

The road was reopened around 12:45 a.m. Monday morning.

The injured man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
