Numbers drawn for record-setting Mega Millions jackpot
The numbers for the $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot – the world’s largest-ever lottery prize – have been drawn.
The winning numbers were: 5, 28, 62, 65, 70 with a mega ball of 5.
A $620 million Powerball jackpot is also up for grabs Wednesday night.
The dismal odds of winning the Mega Millions grand prize are one in 302.5 million, according to CBS News. The chances of winning the Powerball are slightly better at one in 292.2 million. The odds of winning both lotteries at the same time are a staggering one in 88 quadrillion.
While the $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot is the amount that would be paid if the winner chose to take an annuity over 29 years, the lump-sum prize would still be a massive $904 million. The Powerball lump-sum payment is $354.3 million.
