15-year-old arrested for alleged Coachella stabbing

A 15-year-old has been arrested for the alleged Oct. 16 stabbing of another 15-year-old in Coachella.

On Oct. 24 at 10:30 a.m., members of the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force executed a search warrant in the 51000 block Calle Torres Orduno in Coachella stemming from the investigation into the Oct. 16 stabbing which occurred during the alleged attempted robbery of a 15-year-old boy near the intersection Calle Empalme and Avenue 52.

During the warrant search, Task Force members located and arrested the 15-year-old supsect. During the search of the residence, a Rossi .357 rifle was seized.

The suspect was booked in Indio Juvenile Hall and is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and attempted robbery.

The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unknown at this time what weapon was used in the assault.
