Human Rights Campaign hosts 19th annual Palm Springs Garden Party

The Human Rights Campaign hosted their 19th annual Palm Springs Garden Party on Saturday, honoring local LGBTQ advocates.

The Human Rights Campaign is the largest national LGBTQ advocacy organization with more than two million members across the nation. Members of the campaign say they feel honored to celebrate those who have advocated locally for LGBTQ rights and equality, and hope the event encourages others to get involved.

“While this is a party, we will be reminded throughout the afternoon program of the necessity to remain vigilant, and to remain active, and not take things for granted, and to vote,” said Andy Linsky, co-chair of the HRC Garden Party.

The group is honoring members of our local community who have demonstrated a history of advocacy for the LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS movement. This year’s recipients of the “Advocate for Equality Award” are Arlene Rosenthal and Brian Wanzek.
