Razor blade found in child’s trick-or-treat candy

Police are warning parents to carefully check their kids’ Halloween candy after receiving reports of a razor blade found inserted into a piece of trick-or-treat candy in a Beaumont neighborhood.

Police initially found out about the incident through social media when a resident posted a photo of her children’s candy. The candy was passed out somewhere in the area of First St. and Seneca Springs Parkway.

Photos provided by police show a small razor blade pointing out of the bottom of a piece of chocolate candy with a tampered candy wrapper.

Officers recovered the piece of candy and have yet to determine its origin or if the tampering was done intentionally.
