Volunteers needed for Cathedral City Healing Field event

A call has been sent out for volunteers for a very noble cause.

The Rotary Clubs of Cathedral City are seeking at least 100 volunteers to help set up for the city’s annual Healing Field event at Patriot Park in Cathedral City.

The event transforms Patriot Park into a sea of over 5,000 American flags, which wave to honor the 6,933 veterans who have died making the ultimate sacrifice for their country since 9/11.

“It’s really important to me because I was over there flying the B1 bomber. Protecting the guys on the ground, and I saw a lot of guys going home in airplanes in caskets and it means a lot to know I’m still protecting their families,” said retired Air Force Captain Robert Adams at last year’s event.

The event takes place from November 10 through November 17. Volunteers are requested for this Friday, November 9 starting at 8 a.m.
