11 Borderline shooting victims released from hospital

Eleven victims from the Borderline Bar & Grill shooting in Thousand Oaks, California, were released from area hospitals Thursday.

Eight victims were treated for minor injuries at Adventist Health Simi Valley, according to hospital spokesperson Alicia Gonzalez.

Three victims were treated for minor injuries at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, according to hospital spokesperson Megan Maloney. They suffered cuts while escaping the shooting.

All of the victims got to the hospitals on their own.

The shooting left at least 12 victims dead, as well as Ian David Long, the gunman, who is believed to have killed himself. Long, a former U.S. Marine, is believed to have used a Glock 21 .45 caliber handgun with an extended magazine in the shooting.

His motive is not clear at this time.

The gunman apparently arrived at the bar Wednesday night in a car, and shot a security guard who was standing outside, Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean said Thursday morning.. Long then stepped inside, and apparently shot other security workers and employees and opened fire further inside the club, the Dean said.
