Power outage in south Palm Desert

355 Southern California Edison customers were without electricity Monday morning following a service outage in south Palm Desert

The utility blamed faulty equipment for the outage and said at 7:12 a.m. all service should be restored by 4:00 p.m. Monday afternoon. As of 4:07 p.m., the outage was still active, according to an SCE customer and the company’s outage map.

Edison had earlier stated service should be restored by noon.
