Teen gang member arrested for possession of loaded handgun & narcotics
This morning at around 10:30 a.m., a 17-year-old juvenile was arrested during a weapons-related search warrant served at a residence near the 52000 block of Nelson Street in Coachella, according to a news release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Officers with the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force said the juvenile was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and narcotics. Officers seized a loaded .22 caliber revolver, ammunition, methamphetamine, and heroin.
The juvenile was charged with being a minor in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotics for sale. The juvenile was booked at Juvenile Hall in Indio.
