Man dies in Indio I-10 crash on Thanksgiving

A 49-year-old man from Whittier died on Thanksgiving following a crash on I-10 eastbound in Indio.

At 1:54 p.m., the 49-year-old was traveling on the interstate in a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado near Frontage Road in Indio when the truck traveled off the left side of the freeway onto the center median, where it crashed.

The driver was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center after the crash, and died from his injuries on November 23. His identity has not been released at this time.

The cause of the collision is under investigation. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a factor in the collision. The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
