One Class at a Time: Coachella Valley High School

Coachella Valley High School’s Ms. DeAnn Foster won KESQ’s December One Class At A Time award!

Ms. DeAnn Foster is an agriculture and floral design teacher at CVHS, and she tells New Channel 3 that she plans to use the $500 award from the Walter Clark Legal Group to purchase umbrellas for her students. Her class on livestock care and agriculture takes place entirely outdoors, with no shade for students. In the summer, the scorching weather can leave students overheated and dehydrated. Ms. Foster says she also plans on using the money to buy desperately-needed farm tools.

“At the time, we were sweating out here because there was no shade and that’s why umbrellas came to mind,” said Foster.

News Channel 3 and the Walter Clark Legal Group are thrilled to help Ms. Foster’s class with the equipment they need to prepare students for a bright future in farming.
