Woman suffers serious injuries after being attacked by 3 dogs
A woman is recovering in the hospital after being attacked by three dogs while hanging laundry on her property.
According to Cal Fire, the attack happened Saturday at about 9:40 a.m. on the 55000 Block of Mitchell Road in Anza. The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Her injuries were described to the responding officer as “severe.”

John Welsh, senior public information specialist for Riverside County Animal Services, said the owner of the dogs was arrested by a sheriff’s deputy after the incident. Welsh added that the owner had an outstanding felony warrant.
The dogs, all three pit bull or pit bull mixes, are being held in protective custody at the San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus. Welsh said due to the severity of the attack, animal services will seek a destruction order from an independent hearing officer.
There is no update on the condition of the woman, Welsh said this was a very serious attack and she remains in the hospital.
“This is another preventable attack on an innocent person and one we find very upsetting,” Animal Services Director Robert Miller said. “Initial reports indicate the attack was so severe that she remains hospitalized. We are very concerned for this woman. Our hearts go out to her and her family.”
Miller reminded owners of dogs that have high prey drives to have secure yards so they can protect others’ pets and their neighbors.
“It’s imperative that owners of these types of dogs do everything in their power to prevent such horrific attacks,” Miller said.
