Alleged Christmas light thief arrested in Palm Springs
Palm Springs Police Department officers have arrested a man suspected of stealing Christmas decorations in Palm Springs early Wednesday morning.
At around 4:30 a.m.m, PSPD received a call from a man on the 220 block of Junipero Avenue who said his Christmas decorations had been stolen. The victim gave the investigating officers surveillance footage in his possession, which led to PSPD’s identification of the suspect, 53-year-old Palm Springs resident Edward Kent Kasper.
According to a PSPD release on the alleged theft, Kasper was found with the stolen decorations in his possession and arrested for misdemeanor petty theft. Kasper was already wanted for two misdemeanor warrants.
He was booked into Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning just before 10:00 a.m.
The decorations were successfully recovered and returned to the victim.
