One person in custody after Coachella barricade

One person has been taken into custody by Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies following a barricade at a residence on the 50000 block of Goya Drive in Coachella.

Several residences in a Coachella neighborhood were evacuated during the initial investigation.

At 6:30 A.M., Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the residence for a report of a suspicious circumstance. A gunshot was fired in a residence on the block, afterward, all occupants left the home except one.

The individual then barricaded inside the residence and was non-cooperative with deputies. No officer or civilians were injured.
