2018 Valley Homicide report: Numbers down from 2017
A new report released today shows there were 16 homicides in the Coachella Valley in 2018. That number is down from 24 homicides in 2017.
Both Palm Springs and Indio had three homicides. Desert Hot Springs and Cathedral City had 2. La Quinta, Coachella, Mecca, Thermal, Sky Valley, and Indio Hills each had one.
Six of the homicides remain unsolved.
In 2017, there were four homicides in both Indio and Palm Springs. Eight in Desert Hot Springs. Three in Cathedral City and five in Unincorporated areas of Riverside County.
