Film Festival brings tourism traffic to Palm Springs
Visitors for the 30th annual Palm Springs Film Festival are not only getting a taste of this year’s best films — but the city’s local vendors and businesses, too.
Fred Estrada of L’Artisan bakery set up his tent at the farmer’s market outside of the Camelot Theater in Palm Spring Saturday. He said he’s met people from across the world attending the festival and noticed a spike in his business.
“We provide fresh bread and pastries for the community here for the farmer’s market. Of course we’re enjoying the film festival taking place this weekend,” Estrada said.
The market’s manager says downtown businesses and vendors can guarantee to cash in this time of year.
“Everyone looks forward to the first two weeks of January. Of course, it makes our parking lot very busy but we are delighted to have all of the people from all over coming out to check out the films and our markets,” Megan Goehring said.
There’s still plenty of time and movies to check out as the festival continues until January 14th.
