Motorcyclist suffers major injuries in Palm Desert crash
Motorcyclist suffers major injuries in crash Monday morning in Palm Desert.
The crash was first reported at around 10:58 a.m. in the area of Monterey Avenue and Arboleda Drive.
According to a news release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the preliminary investigation revealed the motorcyclist was traveling south on Monterey Avenue at an unknown speed when it crashed into the rear of an automobile. This caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the motorcycle and land in the center median about 30 feet away.
It is noted in the news release that the motorcyclist was hospitalized with major, but non-life threatening injuries. Deputies said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No one else suffered any injuries.
Roads in the area were closed for approximately two hours while the investigation was conducted and the roadway cleared of debris.
