Patrick Warburton prepares for annual golf tournament

The Warburton Celebrity Golf Tournament is coming up!

From February 28 to March 3, more than 75 celebrities are expected to come to town for a long weekend of golf and music.

Last year, more than $2.5 million was raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Over eight years, the tournament has raised $8 million, and they hope to raise the bar with the ninth annual tournament in 2019.

9th Warburton tournament to bring stars to the desert for a great cause

“We always felt sort of a desire to do something outside of our family, our life, to help children, families, sick children, families dealing with sick children,” said actor and tournament host Patrick Warburton. “It all comes together at St. Jude…they’re the pioneers of therapies and cures for catastrophic childhood pediatric cancers and diseases.”

He said there’s no better place for a celebrity golf tournament for charity than the Coachella Valley.

Celebrity competitors and performers are expected to be announced in February. All packages to play golf have been sold out online, but there is a waitlist available. Tickets are still on sale for dinner with Andy Childs, Songwrriters Night, Rheneypalooza, the Soiree, and more online.

Here’s a snapshot of this year’s events:

Thursday, February 28 – Songwriters Night – JW Marriott Desert Springs, Palm Desert “This will be an evening with a group of renowned Nashville songwriters telling the stories behind their biggest hits, along with performing those hits,” reads an event news release. “The event will be hosted by HLN morning news anchor, Robin Meade. Tickets are $150 and include a barbecue dinner and drinks.” Friday, March 1 – Rheneypalooza Jam “[Rheneypalooz Jam] has generated a lot of buzz as “the best event in the desert” and sold out the past few years because of its unique line-up of Rock-and-Roll Hall of Famers and other famous rock legends who perform some of their hits in what becomes essentially a 4+ hour rock-and-roll variety show,” reads an event news release.” Saturday, March 2 – The Saturday Soiree “[The event] will feature red carpet appearances that evening by many of the celebrities involved with the tournament, as well as a dinner and dancing to music by the band, Sixwire, the featured band from the television show, Nashville. Saturday & Saturday, March 2-3 – Celebrity Golf Tournament “Each foursome golfs with a celebrity.
