6th grade teacher arrested for sexually assaulting two minors

A middle school teacher was arrested for alleged sexual abuse of two minors.

Jose Isabel Martinez, a sixth-grade teacher at Frisbie Middle School in Rialto, was arrested Tuesday on charges of “continuous sexual abuse to a minor,” according to a news release by the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department.

The Yucaipa Sheriff’s station began its investigation into the sexual abuse of the two minors on Oct. 1, 2018. The news release notes that the investigation was later taken over by the Sheriff’s Department Crimes Against Children Detail, which discovered Martinez had allegedly sexually assaulted two minors numerous times over the course of a few years.

Investigators said the minors, ages 8 and 10, were acquainted with Martinez but were not students at his school.

Martinez was booked at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga and is being held on $700,000 bail.

Detectives believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is urged to call (909) 387-3615. Callers wishing to remain anonymous are urged to call the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463).
