Highway 62 open again at Indian Canyon Drive
State Route 62 southbound was closed at Indian Canyon Drive for several hours due to a traffic collision investigation according to Desert Hot Springs Police Chief Dale Mondary.
“Southbound SR 62 is closed due to a traffic accident investigation. An alternative route has been set up but please slow down and drive carefully,” read the message from Chief Mondary posted to the city of Desert Hot Springs Facebook page at 12:24 p.m.. “We will open the road as quickly as possible.”
Mondary tweeted out that all lanes on Highway 62 were back open at around 3:30 p.m.
Vehicles were being routed off to Worsley Road and rerouted back on at Pierson Boulevard.

The two-vehicle crash happened this morning at 8:21 a.m. and involved a pickup truck and sedan, according to the California Highway Patrol. There is no word on injuries.
