Yucca Valley man arrested for robbery

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man suspected in late Tuesday evening robbery in the unincorporated community of Landers north of Yucca Valley.

At 11:10 p.m. on Jan. 8, deputies responded to a report of a robbery at a residence on the 600 block of of Ripon Avenue in Landers. The suspect, who was identified by the victim as J.R. Ballard, assaulted the victim with an object then stolen property from the residence, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Ballard fled the residence with two other individuals, who were found to not be involved in the robbery. Deputies were able to later locate and arrest Ballard at a residence on the 55000 block of Cherokee Trail.

Ballard was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for residential robbery and a parole violation.
