Cheryl Hines kicks off 2019 Rancho Mirage speaker series

Two-time Emmy-nominated actress Cheryl Hines kicked off the 2019 Rancho Mirage speaker series Tuesday night at the Eisenhower Health campus.

Hines spoke with News Channel 3’s Kelley Moody before her presentation. She said her message is to celebrate life’s big and small moments.

Hines received best-supporting actress in a comedy series Emmy nominations in 2003 and 2006 for her portrayal of Cheryl David on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” The show is currently in production for a tenth season.

“Your career is important, and of course, your job is important, but nothing is going to be more important than the people in your life,” said Hines. “I’ve been very very fortunate to have been able to be with this ‘Curb’ family for 19 years…they’re all some of my best friends.”

Hines later was also a cast member of the ABC comedies “In the Motherhood” and “Suburgatory” and the Fox hybrid live-action/animated comedy “Son of Zorn.”

Bobby Kennnedy Jr. was in the audience supporting his wife. Hines and Kennedy married in 2014.

“Happy Days” star Harry Winkler was originally scheduled to appear as Tuesday’s speaker but canceled last month due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Other speakers slated for the 2019 series include internist and addiction medicine specialist Drew Pinsky, best known as radio and television host “Dr. Drew,” on Feb. 26, and Elizabeth Vargas, former anchor of “20/20” on March 26.

Tickets starting at $45 are available at RMSpeakerSeries.com.
