Lockdown at Westside Elementary in Thermal lifted
A lockdown at Westside Elementary School in Thermal was in effect for an hour Thursday afternoon.
The lockdown was due to reports of shots being fired in the area near the school, but not on the campus.
The lockdown was reported at 12:10 p.m.The school is located at 82225 Airport Road in Thermal. The lockdown remained in effect for an hour while deputies searched the area for a suspect. A suspect was never located.
