Interstate 10 traffic slow after collisions

A series of traffic collisions were slowing freeway traffic Friday morning westbound on Interstate 10. The wrecks were reported on the freeway near Washington Street and near Jefferson.

The freeway traffic was backed up to Jefferson Street.

The first collision occurred at 6:54 a.m. A driver in a black Honda collided with a work truck.

A second collision involved a driver in a Chevrolet Malibu who collided with another motorist in a GMC Sierra pickup truck at 7:32 a.m.

A third collision at 8:03 a.m. involved a Riverside County Fire truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A fourth collision at 8:09 a.m. involved a driver in a white Volkswagon Jetta and another motorist in a blue Nissan Altima.

No serious injuries were reported.
