Quinton Egson, chief executive officer of the Boys and Girls Club of the Coachella Valley, said Joyner-Kersee’s visit helped inspire the children at the center.
“She was really sweet, down to earth, really connected with the kids, inspired the kids. She talked to the kids about reaching their goals, about eating healthy, about doing the right thing and getting their right results. She was just fabulous,” said Quinton Egson, chief executive officer of the Boys and Girls Club of the Coachella Valley.
News Channel 3 anchor Karen Devine and Sports Director Blake Arthur will emcee the News Channel 3 sponsored event. Tune in Saturday at 10 and 11 p.m. for coverage.
