Hundreds turn out seeking jobs for Coachella, Stagecoach festivals

Job seekers flocked to Indio Friday morning hoping to work at the upcoming upcoming Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals.

A long line forms at the El Dorado Polo Club with people filling out applications, all looking to work at Coachella and Stagecoach. One local is seeking a job at the information booth.

“I’m multi-lingual so I think I can help visitors out, and second, customer service is really my thing,” Andy Alexander of La Quinta, said.

She is one of about 600 people that showed up and is looking to earn some extra money being retired.

“I like to still stay active and I think it’s a really great way to be in touch with the community,” Alexander said.

Goldenvoice staff members say around 5,000 positions total are available for the three weekends in April and a vast majority are filled locally, with many coming from the job fair that’s seeing more and more applicants.

“I think it will be great for a lot of people here and get people off the streets and get a job and better for the economy all around,” Lorri Anderson of Indio, said.

With interviews being done on-site Alexander says she a little anxious and having already gone to Coachella as a fan, she’s ready to work.

“It’s so exciting to be a part of it, so many people with everything. Working it will be really interesting, totally different perspective,” she said.

A perspective she hopes will come through.
