RMHS marching band helps clean up community

Rancho Mirage High School’s “Sound and Pageantry” students volunteered to help clean up the community.

The students, along with some parents and Palm Springs Unified School District staff, woke up early Saturday morning to help clean an area out in Thermal.

This was all done through the Riverside County Youth Clean-Up Program, which helps local youth-based nonprofits raise funds by cleaning up illegal dumping sites in the community.

The event was put together by Band director Michael Gaylord and Desert Hot Springs High School teacher Christine Becerra, who has two daughters in the band.
