Voluntary evacuations lifted at Horizon mobile home park, nearby area

The Palm Springs Police Department is issuing a voluntary evacuation order for residents of the Horizon Mobile Home Park in Palm Springs.

Precautionary and voluntary evacuations have also been issued in the area of Rim Road for all residents south of the Araby wash.

According to PSPD, the evacuation notice was issued for this area due to concerns that emergency crews would not be able to reach that area if the road washes out.

We have received reports that the bridge nearby on Palm Canyon is flooding.

The area is known to flood during heavy rains.

Palm Springs announced Well in the Desert is open as a storm shelter for residents. It is located on 498-400 S Calle Encilia.
