Up to $250,000 in damage caused in Thousand Palms house fire
A Thousand Palms house fire caused an estimated $100,000 to $250,000 in damage Friday morning before being contained by Cal Fire crews.
The fire broke out shortly before 7:00 a.m. this morning at a house on the 31000 block of Monte Vista Way. The fire was contained by 7:26 a.m. and did not spread to additional structures.
One person, who suffered from minor burns, was in the home when the blaze broke. This person refused treatment when Cal Fire crews arrived on scene.
A neighbor said that they called 911 when smoke was spotted coming from the residence this morning.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Fire crews remained on scene for approximately two hours after the blaze was contained.
