Storm debris brings issues, repairs for drivers

Thursday’s chaotic weather has left many drivers dealing with issues like flat tires after driving over road debris, potholes and other hazards in the aftermath of the storm.

Local car technicians at MountainView Tire & Auto in Palm Desert say they’ve seen a spike in customers who have come in to fix broken or damaged windshield wipers and also didn’t realize their tire pressure or tire tread was low.

Store manager Mike Flores said these problems can cause dangerous spin outs, hydroplaning or crashes.

He advises customers to frequently check tires, wipers and car batteries before and after storms to assess car functions and damage.
