Palm Springs Black History Month Parade, Town Fair slated for Saturday

This Saturday, the 32nd Annual Black History Parade and Town Fair will be held in Palm Springs.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Alejo Road and Palm Canyon Drive at 11 a.m. on the 23rd.

The Town Fair will follow immediately after the parade at Frances Stevens Park, starting at 12 p.m. and running until 6 p.m.

The parade’s theme this year is Black Migrations and Urban Realities.

The event is being organized by the Palm Springs Black History Committee and the City of Palm Springs. It is also sponsored by the Palm Springs Historical Society.

“Walk with us and help support unity in diversity here in the Coachella Valley,” read an excerpt from the Palm Springs Historical Society’s website on this year’s parade and town fair. “You will see some amazing bands and dance moves, so much spirit pounds the Palm Canyon pavement.”
