Palm Springs quadruple homicide suspect appears in court
A man charged with the shooting deaths of four people in Palm Springs appeared in Indio court today for a felony settlement conference.
Jose Larin-Garcia, 19, of Cathedral City, is facing four counts of murder stemming from the Feb. 3 killings that occurred at two locations in Palm Springs. He was arrested Feb. 4 at the Greyhound bus station at 83100 Indio Blvd. in Indio.
Larin-Garcia is set to return to return to Indio court Friday for a preliminary hearing.
Larin-Garcia is accused of fatally shooting Jacob Montgomery, 19, Juan Duarte Raya, 18, and Yuliana Garcia, 17, who were found fatally shot inside a vehicle following a traffic crash at 11:40 p.m. Feb. 3 at Sunny Dunes and El Placer roads. He is also accused in the shooting death of 25-year-old Carlos Campos Rivera, who was found a half-hour later on Canon Drive south of Theresa Drive.
Larin-Garcia’s attorney provided additional details to News Channel 3 about the night of the alleged killings following the conference today, telling Jeremy Chen that he was friends with one of the victim’s Jacob Montgomery and that he was in the car with Montgomery, Garcia, and Duarte Raya on the night of their killings.
