Four boys arrested for High Desert school burglary
Four teenage boys were arrested in Joshua Tree in late March for breaking into a school building, burglarizing it, and causing several thousand dollars in damage, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department news release.
On March 24, two 15-year-old boys, one 14-year old boy, and one 13-year-old boy broke into a vacant elementary school on the 6000 block of Sunburst Avenue. They reportedly caused $2000 worth of damage to the buildings on the property and then stole $3,480 worth of electronic equipment.
The Yucca Valley School Resource Officer, M. Sellers, identified the four suspects after an investigation. On April 2, deputies found the boys, recovered the stolen property and tools used to commit the crimes, arrested and cited them. They were then released to their parents.
The 13-year-old is from Joshua Tree, and the other boys are from Twentynine Palms.
