Valley hotels gear up for weekend one of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival
At the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa, they are gearing up for a sold out weekend for the first weekend of Coachella.
Though weekend two is not yet sold out, they anticipate that it soon will be.
Cindy Kratochvil is the hotel’s Director of Marketing.
“We get very excited here because so many people are in town, it is obviously a high energy, high traffic time for us here at the Miramonte,” said Kratochvil.
The sell out for weekend one of Coachella at the hotel, is par for what has happened in recent years.
Kratochvil points to what she perceives as a “weaker line-up” for this year’s festival .. as a possible factor in reservations for weekend two lagging.
When it comes to Stagecoach, which takes place April 26th through the 28th, that weekend is sold out.
“Every weekend is different. The Coachella weekend is a younger demographic. The millenials come here. They typically leave here after breakfast, and are at the fairgrounds most of the day,” said Kratochvil.
Like many hotels in the desert, during festival time, the Miramonte is offering extra services, including “late night bites”, dee-jays performing pool side, and even “I-V therapy” for festivalgoers who have a little too much fun in the sun.
The starting room rate at the Miramonte for weekend two of Ccoahchellla is $584 a night.
The Director of Marketing says the recently completed BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells brought several sold out nights.
Those nights, along with the upcoming festival weekends, are the busiest and most important weeks of the year.
Kratochvil says the hotels one hundred employees will be ready.
“I love the energy, there is so much going on in the valley,” she said.
A represenative for the Greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau tells us the major resort hotels are sold out for weekend one of Coachella.
