N Indian Canyon reopens

North Indian Canyon Drive has reopened at the wash in Palm Springs. The roadway was closed for about 14 and a half hours.

The closure went into effect around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

N Indian Canyon has been closed yet again at the Whitewater Wash, the Palm Springs Police Department announced Wednesday evening.

The busy roadway remained closed Thursday morning.

PSPD closed the road at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday due to “sand and poor visibility.”

Motorists can use Gene Autry Trail to the east or Highway 111 to the west as alternate routes in and out of Palm Springs.

According to News Channel 3’s Chief First Alert Meteorologist Haley Clawson, wind speeds will strengthen through Friday morning.
