Deputies seek suspect responsible for Windy Point hit-and-run

Deputies are seeking a suspect driving a white truck wanted in connection with a series of hit and run collisions in Windy Point Friday morning.

Just before 5:30 a.m., Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 80 block of Bonanza Road in the Windy Point community north of Palm Springs for a call of a possible shooting. Upon arrival, deputies spoke to community members and investigated the area, but could not confirm that a shooting took place.

Witnesses in the area, however, told deputies that a white truck fled the area shortly before their arrival, and struck several cars in the roadway in the process. No injuries were reported in the string of collisions.

The Sheriff’s Department did not provide a suspect description.

Anyone with information relating to this incident is urged to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Cabazon Station at (951) 922-7100.
