Pacific Premier Bank in Palm Desert robbed

Update – 6/20/19:

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced a suspect in this bank robbery has been arrested. Christopher Franco, 43, of Indio, was identified as the suspect in the robberies of the Pacific Premier Bank and Rabobank in Palm Desert this past week. Franco was not named a suspect in the armed robbery at Wells Fargo that occurred on June 10, 2019.

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a bank robbery in Palm Desert

Deputy Mike Vasquez, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Department, confirmed to News Channel 3 that a Pacific Premier Bank near the intersection of Washington Street and Fred Waring Drive, along the border of Indian Wells near the Tennis Gardens, was robbed. The incident was reported at approximately 4:41 p.m.

Vasquez said an adult male fled the location with an undisclosed amount of money and was heading north on Washington Street.

Authorities have established a perimeter and are looking for the suspect. The Sheriff’s Department said the suspect was wearing a black hat, dark sweater, white t-shirt, and blue jeans at the time of the robbery.

This is the third bank robbery in the Coachella Valley in the past week.

Last Monday, the Wells Fargo located near the River in Rancho Mirage was robbed. On Friday, the Rabobank near the intersection of Hovley Lane and Cook Street was also robbed.

No arrest have been made in either bank robbery. Vasquez said they are looking into whether this is the same suspect from either of those two bank robberies.
