Douglass passed away in July 2013 after getting hit by a car on Interstate 10.

The flag is said to be from the engine that Douglas rode on the day he died.

Helmet name tags from fellow firefighters were placed on the flag as well.

The road side memorial will only be up until the end of the day due to rules regarding memorials from cal trans.
