Palm Desert Sheriff’s station evacuated due to suspicious package

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Palm Desert Station was evacuated this afternoon due to a suspicious package being found on premises.

According to RSO public information officer Robyn Flores, the station, located at 73705 Gerald Ford Driver, was evacuated at a little after 5 p.m. The Sheriff’s Department’s Hazardous Device Team arrived on scene to investigate the package.

Officials determined the package was not a hazardous device and normal operation continued at around 7 p.m.
