Nonprofit launches local community health study
A local nonprofit is once again launching a health survey in the valley.
Health Assessment and Research For Communities (HARC) will be facilitating the study with interviewers from Kent State University. This will be the fifth iteration of the study operated by HARC, a research and evaluation firm based in Palm Desert.
The study will be conducted by phone, and anyone locally with a landline or cell phone may be contacted.
“The survey is a population health study that allows HARC to estimate the prevalence of health conditions, behaviors, major diseases, mental health, and much more for the entire Coachella Valley region,” reads the release from HARC on the survey. “HARC also collects general demographics to more closely examine group differences, such as gender, race/ethnicity, and age.”
The study is being operated from January to October. Each week, a new participant will be randomly selected to win a $100 VISA gift card.
