House fire reignites in Desert Hot Springs

A house fire that extinguished in Desert Hot Springs this morning has reignited, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was first reported at 5:22 a.m. in the 62000 block of Pierson Boulevard. The fire started up again at 10:43 a.m.

41 firefighters and 12 fire engines are on scene battling the blaze.

Initially, crews arrived to find smoke coming from the front of the home and quickly doused the flames, according to Cal Fire Riverside. It is not clear at this time what caused the first to restart.

One person was displaced as a result of the fire but declined assistance from the American Red Cross, Cal Fire Riverside spokesman Rob Roseen said.
