Shelter set-up for those without power in the East Valley
RivCoReady, Riverside County’s emergency preparedness campaign, announced a shelter was set-up for those without power Tuesday evening. The shelter is at the Galilee Center on 66101 Hammond Road in Mecca.

This comes after a storm passed through the East Valley, knocking down trees, power lines, and poles. According to IID, around 40 power poles were downed in the area.
As of Tuesday evening, there were approximately 1,016 customers without power, according to IID. When the storm first knocked the power down, the outage affected more than 4,500 customers.
