Power restored to all high desert residents

UPDATE: All service appears to have been restored as of 11:00 a.m. Friday morning, according to the Southern California Edison website.

——

A widespread power outage in the Morongo Basin continued Friday morning.

Southern California Edison said 1,993 customers were without electricity in an area surrounded by Landers, Yucca Valley, and Sunfair Heights Friday morning.

Edison had blamed Wednesday and Thursday’s electrical storm for damaging transmission equipment in the Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms areas.

Most customers were expected to see their service restored by 3:00 p.m. Friday, according to the SCE website.

The same website showed service restored in the Desert Heights and Twentynine Palms areas.
