Three adults, four juveniles arrested after multi-agency investigation in DHS

Six adult and six juveniles were taken into custody on Thursday in connection with a multi-agency investigation in Desert Hot Springs.

On Thursday evening, Desert Hot Springs Police Department officers responded to the 12200 block of Highland Avenue for a report of a residential burglary. When the first officer arrived, a suspicious vehicle was located near the residence with several people inside. When the officer approached the vehicle and tried to make contact with the occupants, several fled the location on foot. Two occupants were detained on scene.

A lengthy foot pursuit followed, and in the process, the homeowner of the residence told officers that the suspects had taken two firearms from the residence. Due to the presence of firearms, DHSPD requested the assistance of the Palm Springs Police Department, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and air support from the California Highway Patrol. RSO and PSPD K-9 units also responded to the scene.

Four suspects, three juveniles and one adult, were detained after the pursuit.

19-year-old Chouncey Wilson was taken into custody at 7:33 p.m., according to county jail records. He faces a felony charge of conspiracy to commit a crime and first degree burglary. He is being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on $35,000 bail. He is set to be arraigned at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on August 6.

The three juveniles, all from Desert Hot Springs, were taken into custody and entered into Indio Juvenile Hall.

Several of the juvenile suspects were also wanted in connection with a commercial burglary that occurred on July 30, according to a Desert Hot Spring Police Department news release. After investigating, DHSPD detectives executed a series of search warrants in connection with commercial burglary investigation and arrested two additional adults and one juvenile.

19-year-old Jazz Evaro was found in one of the suspect residence and was arrested on suspicion of being illegally in possession of a handgun. 31-year-old Dennis Parker was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.
