A Pioneertown man is behind bars after being found with more than 30 firearms and several thousand rounds of ammunition.

Thursday, deputies served a search warrant for a burglary and stolen property investigation at a home on Pipes Canyon road, just west of Highway 247.

They identified 34-year-old Justin Channell as a suspect and found him at the home.

Inside, they found more than 30 firearms and several thousand rounds of ammunition.

Channell is a convicted felon and is not allowed to own or posses firearms or ammunition.

He was arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin jail.
