At-risk man found safe

The California Highway Patrol has announced a missing man was found safe overnight Thursday morning, according to the agency's Twitter alert page.

Authorities announced a silver alert for George Anthony Fraschetti, 78, who was last seen on Jefferson Steet and Varner Road in Indio at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Authorities say Fraschetti was driving as he was following his friend home who was in another vehicle.

Fraschetti was coming from 79000 block of Avenue 40, according to police. He was driving a Silver 2010 Hyundai Tucson SUV with a CA license plate 6WIP038.

Fraschetti is described as standing 5 foot, 11 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds. He has gray hair and hazel eyes.

Police say Fraschetti is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's & has high blood pressure.

It's not clear how or where he was found.
