Pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Coachella

The Riverside Country Sheriff's Department is investigating a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian Thursday evening in Coachella.

Deputy Robyn Flores, public information officer for RSO, said the collision was reported at approximately 5:59 p.m. on Frederick Street and Jalisco Avenue.

Flores confirmed the pedestrian was hospitalized. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with deputies.

Southbound Frederick St. is blocked off as deputies continue their investigation.
