Local musician accused of child sex crimes

A local musician, and high school football coach, who played at Stagecoach in 2010 was arrested Tuesday afternoon and faces three felony charges.

Jonathan Andrew Linn, 55, of the John Linn Band, was arrested in Pioneertown by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department at around 4 p.m., jail records show.

Deputies from San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Morongo Basin Station say that on January 6, they received a report of a sexual relationship between Linn and a 14-year-old child.

School Resource Officer Michael Sellers and deputies immediately conducted an investigation which eventually concluded that the relationship had been going on for over a year.

Authorities say Linn was an assistant coach for the Yucca Valley High School football team. He was also heavily involved in community events including the Pioneertown Wild West shows and a variety of country western dance groups.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims due to the suspect's involvement in community events. Linn is being held at the San Bernadino County - West Valley Detention Center on $250,000 bail. According to jail records, Linn faces charges of rape, lewd acts with a child, and false imprisonment.
