Man hospitalized after shooting in Indio

A man was transported to the hospital after a shooting Tuesday night in Indio.

The shooting occurred in the area of Clinton Street and Riverlane Drive, located between Indio Boulevard and Fred Waring Drive.

Neighbors say they heard dozens of gunshots ring out. There are multiple markers on the ground next to shell casings.

Ben Guitron, public information officer for Indio Police, confirmed that someone fired at a home in the 81300 block of Riverlane Drive at around 9:38 p.m. Guitron said bullets went into a garage, striking a male inside.

Police confirm a man was shot at the home – he was reportedly in the garage when bullets went flying. He is now recovering in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The male has been transported to the hospital. Guitron confirmed the preliminary diagnosis is that the male's injuries are non-life threatening.

No information is available on a possible suspect(s) at this time.
