Fire department evacuates several businesses in downtown Palm Springs
The Palm Springs Fire Department ordered several businesses in the Vineyard area of downtown Palm Springs to evacuate as they conduct an investigation.
Authorities have not released any information on the evacuation. Sammy G’s staff told News Channel 3 they smelled something like burning rubber.
Power is out for 16 customers, SCE confirmed.
An SCE spokesperson told News Channel 3 that crews found a bad underground cable that needs to be replaced. Power is expected to return to the area late this evening.
